The Decoration of Merit for Services to the State of Vienna (Ehrenzeichen für Verdienste um das Land Wien) is the most significant honour currently awarded by the federal state of Vienna. The various classes of the order are awarded by the Governor of Vienna or in his name.
This decoration should not be confused with the other awards of the City of Vienna, which since around 1949 have included the Medal of Honour of the Federal Capital Vienna, honorary citizenship of the City of Vienna, the Ring of Honour of the City of Vienna and the Golden Rathausmann.
