Terms of use

Orders & Medals Price Archive (“the archive”, “we”) is a free reference service: a catalogue of orders, decorations and medals and an archive of prices at which such items have sold or been offered by auction houses and dealers. You may use it without an account; a free account unlocks more features. By using the archive you agree to these terms.

Prices, comparisons, valuations and catalogue entries are indicative market information gathered automatically from third parties. They are not an appraisal, an authentication, a guarantee of value or an offer to buy or sell. They can be incomplete or wrong. Always examine an item and consult a qualified specialist before buying, selling or insuring it. See the methodology for how the figures are made.

Accounts are for one person each. Give a real email address you control, keep your password private, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend or close accounts used against these terms.

You agree not to:

• copy, scrape, crawl or download the archive or catalogue in bulk, by hand or with software;
• use the archive to build, train or feed another database, price guide or service;
• get around the limits on free use, for example with several accounts or automated requests;
• interfere with the service, probe it for weaknesses, or reverse-engineer it;
• resell or republish the archive's data or results commercially without our written permission.

Ordinary personal research, including quoting a few prices with a link back, is welcome.

Listing titles, prices, descriptions and photographs come from the auction houses, dealers and marketplaces that published them and remain theirs. The archive shows them for reference and research, credits each source and links to the original listing. Catalogue text and images from Wikipedia, Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons are used under their free licences and credited where they appear. If you own content shown here and want it removed, write to info@patersonauctioneers.com or use our feedback form, and we will act promptly.

The archive is provided free and “as is”. We may change, limit or stop features — including what is free without an account — and may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Continuing to use the archive after a change means you accept it.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the archive or reliance on its information, including any decision to buy, sell, bid on or value an item. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
