The Austrian Olympic Medal and the Austrian Olympic Medal 1976 are federal decorations for merit of the Republic of Austria. They were instituted by federal laws on the occasion of the hosting of the IX Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck in 1964 and the XII Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck in 1976, and were intended to honour persons who had distinguished themselves through personal and exemplary commitment in preparing for and holding the Games.
They were awarded by the Federal President on the recommendation of the Federal Government.
