The Order of Military Bravery and Merit (Орден За воинскую доблесть и заслуги) was instituted in 1974.
The order had two grades.
The insignia is a silver or gold lozenge on which a silver or gold lozenge with red enamel is placed. On this lozenge are placed a medallion depicting the Bulgarian lion on the Bulgarian flag and a gold palm branch. The inscription “НРБ ЗА ВОЕННА ДОБЛЕСТ И ЗАСЛУГА” is on the ring around the medallion.
The ribbon was green with a central stripe in the colours of the Bulgarian flag, and the decoration was worn on the chest from a pentagonal ribbon.
