Ordem do Mérito Médico

The Order of Medical Merit (Ordem do Mérito Médico) is a decoration established by Law No. 1,074 of 14 March 1950 and regulated by Decree No. 29,198 of 24 January 1951. Its purpose is to reward Brazilian and foreign doctors who have rendered notable services to the country, distinguished themselves in the practice of the profession or in the teaching of medicine, or authored works of importance to medical studies.
