The Honorary Badge of the State of Saxony-Anhalt (Ehrennadel des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt) was established on April 19, 2000, by the then Minister-President Reinhard Höppner as a state award and has since served as recognition for outstanding voluntary activities by citizens of the state of Saxony-Anhalt. Before it was renamed in 2003, the award was called the “Minister-President’s Honorary Badge”.
