The Golden Oak Branch of Tartu County (Tartumaa Kuldne Tammeoks) is the highest decoration of Tartu County, awarded in recognition of citizens of Tartu County whose long-term work has empowered and enriched the county’s development and made a major contribution to its economy, culture, living environment, and people’s well-being. The decorations are presented each year at a concert ceremony marking the anniversary of the Republic of Estonia.
Until 2017, the Golden Oak Branch was awarded by the Tartu County Government and presented by the Tartu County Governor at the Republic of Estonia anniversary reception at the Vanemuine Concert Hall. Since 2018, the county-level award has been presented by the Tartu County Association of Municipalities.
The decoration is named after the coat of arms of Tartu County, which depicts a golden oak branch with three leaves and two acorns on a green background in its lower right section.
