The Order of Public Instruction [Ordre de l'Instruction Publique] was a French academic distinction established in 1850.
The Order originated from the Academic Palms, a distinction established in 1808 by Emperor Napoleon I. In 1955, this distinction was transformed into the Order of Academic Palms. The Order was one of the 18 Ministerial Orders of the French Republic.
