Order of Ali

The Badge of the Image of the Commander of the Faithful (نشان تمثال امیرالمؤمنین) is one of the royal decorations of the Qajar period. It was reserved for Qajar kings and princes.

The badge was usually suspended from a collar or pinned to the chest. It takes the form of an oval plaque with an image at its center of Ali ibn Abi Talib, the first Imam of the Shiites, seated and holding a sword. It is surrounded by diamond-like rays, and above it is the Qajar crown, adorned with diamonds. The exact date on which the badge was established is unknown.

During the Pahlavi period, this badge was replaced by the Zulfikar Badge.
