Chief of Staff Citation

Israel Defense Forces decorations are awards and decorations granted to IDF soldiers and officers who have displayed exceptional courage and bravery, usually in combat. Many recipients of decorations were killed while carrying out the act for which they were decorated. IDF decorations are divided into two groups: decorations and commendations. Within each group there are also levels of decoration or commendation. Decorations and commendations are sometimes also awarded to entire units. The Decorations in the Israel Defense Forces Law establishes the relevant provisions.
