The Jubilee Commemorative Medal was instituted on 12 November 1908 by Prince Johann II of Liechtenstein on the occasion of his 50th anniversary of reign and was awarded to all persons in his service at that time, as well as to selected individuals.
The round bronze medal shows the bust of the founder facing left, with the inscription JOHANN FÜRST VON LIECHTENSTEIN 1908. On the reverse, above oak leaves, is the four-line inscription ZUM 50 JÄHRIGEN REGIERUNGS JUBILÄUM.
The medal was worn on the left side of the chest, suspended from a red triangular ribbon with yellow edge stripes.
