The Medal commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the Mongolian People’s Revolution was established in 1946. Mongolia, previously dominated by China, had entered the Soviet Russian sphere of influence in 1921.
The five-sided, patinated copper medal, bearing the red-enamelled number “XXV,” hangs from a solid, partially red-enamelled suspension and was worn on the left breast.
The medal depicts five animals kept by Mongolian herders.
