The Medal of the Custodian of the Romanian Crown (Medalia „Custodele Coroanei române”) is an award created in 2012 by King Michael I of Romania, head of the Royal Family of Romania.
Unlike the other royal decorations, the medal has been awarded since its establishment by decision of Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, during her father's lifetime, when she held the title of Crown Princess.
The Medal of the Custodian of the Romanian Crown is a medal of merit. It may be awarded to individuals with outstanding achievements in Romania in the social, environmental, and sustainable development fields, in science and the arts, as well as for exceptional performance in various professions and crafts.
