The Cross “For Service in the Caucasus” (1864) (Крест «За службу на Кавказе»)—also known as the Caucasian Cross or the Cross of the Caucasus—was a badge worn on the left side of the chest by all those “who had ever served in the ranks of the brave Caucasian Army and taken part in military operations against the rebellious highlanders of the Caucasus.” It was established on 12 July 1864.
The Caucasian Cross was worn without a ribbon and was classified by the compendium of military regulations as a medal awarded for participation in wars.
