The Medal “For Distinction in Navigation” was a state award of the Russian Empire intended for skippers and navigators who distinguished themselves in the merchant fleet.
The medal was established on 12 (24) February 1830 by decree of Nicholas I. It was awarded through the reign of Nicholas II, inclusive.
