“For the Battle of Vaasa” (За битву при Вазе; “For the Vaasa Campaign”) was a medal awarded to participants in the battle near the city of Vaasa in February 1714. The battle took place between advancing Russian troops under the command of M. M. Golitsyn and Swedish troops. Thirty-three medals were struck at the mint (6 for colonels, 13 for lieutenant colonels, and 14 for majors). The medal was worn on the St Andrew’s ribbon.
