The Finnish Delegation Medal (Lähetyskunnan mitali) is a gold commemorative medal awarded by the Russian Imperial Order, which Emperor Alexander I of Russia presented in St Petersburg in 1808–1809 to the Finnish delegation and its representatives of the burgher and peasant estates. The award was struck for the work of the Finnish delegation, in memory of the homage negotiations held in the cabinet of Anichkov Palace in St Petersburg, which concerned the establishment of the Grand Duchy of Finland, the confirmation of the association and guarantee documents from the period of Swedish rule, and proposals concerning Finland’s central administration and the Bank of Finland.
