The Submarine Officer Badge (Знак «Офицер подводного плавания») was a badge of the Russian Empire awarded to all graduates of the submarine navigation officers’ courses. It was instituted in 1909. Those who had received authorization to command a submarine before the badge was introduced were also entitled to wear it. It was abolished in October 1917 with the advent of Soviet rule.
