Honorary Polar Explorer

The breast badge “Honorary Polar Explorer” [Нагрудный знак «Почётный полярник»] is a departmental award in the USSR and the Russian Federation. The Russian breast badge was approved by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation on 18 October 2005. The badge is awarded to employees of maritime transport organizations, staff of the Ministry, the central office of the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport, its territorial bodies, and other persons who have made a significant contribution to the development of the Northern Sea Route.
