The Medal for Labor Valor [Медаль «За трудовую доблесть»] is one of the eight departmental awards of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.
The name was borrowed from the Soviet awards system, where a Medal for Labor Valor also existed.
It was established by Order No. 310 of the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation dated 5 June 2000, as amended by Order No. 220 dated 5 April 2014 and Order No. 692 dated 27 October 2016.
It was retained (with a ribbon change) in the new system of departmental awards by Order No. 777 of the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation dated 14 December 2017.
