Orden "Sampo"

The Order of Sampo is the highest state award of the Republic of Karelia as of January 1, 2019. The order is awarded no more than three times a year for particularly outstanding achievements and services to the Republic of Karelia and its residents in various fields of activity, to citizens previously awarded state awards of the Russian Federation, the USSR, or Karelia, or who are honorary citizens of the republic. The final decision on awarding the order is made by a commission and the head of the region.
