The Cvijić Medal (Цвијићева медаља) was a decoration of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro. The medal was established on 4 December 1998, with the adoption of the Law on Decorations of the FRY. It was awarded by the President of the Republic and later by the President of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro. It was awarded for exceptional personal achievement in the natural, medical and technical sciences.
The Serbian Geographical Society established the “Jovan Cvijić” Medal in 1935; by 2012, 62 individuals and 13 institutions had been decorated with it.
