The Order of the Red Banner of Labour of the Byelorussian SSR (Орден Трудового Красного Знамени БССР; Belarusian: Ордэн Працоўнага Чырвонага Сцяга БССР) was a state award, established by a resolution of the Presidium of the Central Executive Committee and the Council of People’s Commissars of the Byelorussian SSR on 1 September 1924. Over nine years, from 1924 to 1933, the order was awarded to about 30 labour and military collectives and about 140 individuals.
The design of the order, created by the artist Gennady Yevgenyevich Zmudzinsky, was adopted at a meeting of the Central Executive Committee of the Byelorussian SSR in the summer of 1924. In the artist’s conception, the order depicted the republic’s most significant areas of labour: factory work, industrial work, agriculture, and forestry. A special order for 300 badges was manufactured in Moscow.
