The Order of the Red Banner of Labour (Ukrainian: орден Трудового Червоного Прапора, Orden Troedovoho Tsjervonoho Prapora) was an order of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic.
This socialist order was established in 1921 and had a single class.
Compared with those of the other orders established by the Communists during this period, the decoration is refined and expensively executed. At its centre is a gilded heroic worker holding a red-enamelled flag bearing the text “Labour shall rule the world!” (Ukrainian: «Володарь світу буде труд!», Volodar svitoe boede troed!). The anvil, a wreath of oak and laurel leaves, the letters “У.С.Р.Р.”, the hammer, sickle and sheaf of grain (the latter in place of the traditional sickle) are also gilded. The cogwheel and the five-pointed star on which the ornaments rest are bronze, patinated in two colours.
This medallion was worn pinned to the chest. Symbols of communism were central to the awards established by the Communists during this period, and this decoration was no exception; otherwise, it strongly resembled the orders of the other people's republics.
