Otlichnik militsii

The “Excellence in the Militia” badge [«Отличник милиции»] is a departmental distinction of the internal affairs bodies of the USSR and Russia. It was established by Order No. 246 of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs, dated 23 December 1953. In Russia, it was returned to the system of departmental militia awards by Order No. 633 of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs “On the Establishment of Badges of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs,” dated 14 June 2000. In connection with the reform of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in 2013, it was replaced by the “Excellence in the Police” badge.
