The Badge “For Excellent Marksmanship” (Знак «За отличную стрельбу») was a breast badge of the USSR. It was established by an order of the Revolutionary Military Council dated 10 July 1922 to reward commanding personnel and rank-and-file Red Army soldiers of the Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army (RKKA) for achievements in combat training. In 1928, it was divided into two classes, corresponding to the first and second years of a serviceman’s service. In 1938, the badge was given a new design by order of the People’s Commissar of Defense.
