The Order of Liberation (Орден Визволення) was one of the first orders of the Ukrainian People's Republic. Its statute was approved by Symon Petliura in October 1920, but the order was never manufactured.
In April 1920, the administration of the Military Ministry of the Ukrainian People's Republic initiated the creation of the Order of Liberation, and after the Winter Campaign the Council of People's Ministers of the Ukrainian People's Republic prepared a draft law to award special distinctions to all participants in the campaign. However, the prepared draft statutes for the Order of Liberation and the Iron Cross “For the Winter Campaign and Battles (6 December 1919 – 6 May 1920)” remained in the Military Ministry until the October battles of 1920.
On 19 October 1920, the Chief Ataman of the Ukrainian People's Republic's forces, S. Petliura, approved the statutes of the two-class Order of Liberation and the Iron Cross distinction. On the same day, the High Command of the Ukrainian People's Republic's forces issued the corresponding order.
