War veteran

The “War Veteran” Badge (Нагрудний знак «Ветеран війни») is an addition to the certificate of a participant in combat operations. It is awarded to persons who have the status of war veteran under the Law of Ukraine “On the Status of War Veterans and Guarantees of Their Social Protection,” namely participants in combat operations, persons with disabilities resulting from war, and participants in the war.

The “War Veteran” Badge is produced in four types corresponding to the categories of veterans established by the Law:

“War Veteran — Participant in Combat Operations”;

“War Veteran — Person with a Disability” (until 2018, “War Veteran — Disabled Person”);

“War Veteran — Participant in the War”;

“War Veteran — Special Merits.”

The “War Veteran — Special Merits” Badge is awarded to persons who have rendered special services to the Motherland: persons awarded the Order of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, Heroes of the Soviet Union, full holders of the Order of Glory, persons awarded four or more “For Courage” Medals, and Heroes of Socialist Labor who received this title for work during the Second World War.
