The Shield of San Antonio (Escudo de San Antonio) was a military decoration of Uruguay awarded by the Government of the Defense to members of the Italian Legion commanded by Giuseppe Garibaldi after their victorious resistance, despite being numerically inferior, at the Battle of San Antonio against Oribe’s supporters under the command of General Servando Gómez.
