The Order of Saint Cecilia (Orden der heiligen Cäcilia) was a papal order of knighthood.
Pope Pius IX founded the order of knighthood on 17 June 1847. The order was awarded to the four presidents, secretaries and chamber attendants of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. Because its recipients were restricted to a specified group, the order was also referred to as an insignia of office. The order traces its origins to an illustrious Confraternity of Saint Cecilia, founded by Pope Gregory XIII. Its conferral ceased with the end of the Papal States.
