Order of the Cross of Saint Euphrosyne of Polotsk

The Order of the Cross of Saint Euphrosyne of Polotsk (Ордэн Крыжа прападобнай Ефрасінні Полацкай; Russian: Орден Креста преподобной Евфросинии Полоцкой) is the highest award of the Belarusian Orthodox Church. It was established with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Rus’ on 29 September 1998, on the basis of a decision of the Synod of the Belarusian Orthodox Church of 23 September 1998, as the highest award of the Belarusian Exarchate. The name of Saint Euphrosyne of Polotsk is associated with ascetic efforts to establish monasteries, Orthodox monasticism and spiritual enlightenment in the land of Belarus.
