The Camilo Torres Civic Medal is the highest distinction awarded by the Government of Colombia through the Ministry of National Education, in recognition of educators who have distinguished themselves through their contributions.
Its name was chosen because it represents the values of freedom, democracy, and justice that teachers possess and the duty to strengthen through teaching and pedagogy.
