The Order of the Red Star of Labour was a Czechoslovak order established under Government Regulation No. 24/1955 Coll. of 4 May 1955 (together with the Order of the Red Banner of Labour and the decorations For Labour Loyalty and For Selfless Labour) and conferred “for outstanding merits gained through long-standing, tenacious, selfless and exemplary work in key areas of the economic, scientific or cultural development of socialism, imbued with devotion to one’s profession.” (The Order of the Red Banner of Labour was awarded for a life’s work.) Matters concerning the order were entrusted to the Prime Minister, who also issued its statutes in Government Chairman’s Decree No. 26/1955 Coll. The badge of the order was worn after the Order of Labour.
