The Commemorative Badge of the Czechoslovak Volunteer of 1918–1919 [Pamětní odznak československého dobrovolce z let 1918–1919] was established in 1938. It was also called the Cross “in difficult times.” The badge was awarded retroactively by the Ministry of National Defence of Czechoslovakia in 1938 to members of the Czechoslovak Army and volunteers who, from 28 October 1918 to 31 July 1919, took part in military operations in Slovakia and wherever the integrity of the state borders was being secured.
The cross is made of bronze and was designed by Staff Captain Oldřich Pilz.
