The Medal of Honour “Commitment and Action to Protect Socialism” was a non-state award of the Free German Youth (FDJ) in the German Democratic Republic (GDR), instituted in 1979 in a single class. It succeeded the Medal of Honour “Commitment and Action to Protect the GDR,” awarded from 1972 to 1978, and is similar to its predecessor.
