The Miklós Toldi Medal of Merit (Toldi Miklós-érdemérem) was a decoration established on 25 June 1936 by Regent Miklós Horthy, on the proposal of the Minister of Religion and Public Education. It could be awarded to civilians, and, on the proposal of the Hungarian Royal Minister of Defence, to soldiers who had achieved outstanding results in sport and thereby proved worthy of the decoration.
On the proposal of the Hungarian Royal Minister of Foreign Affairs, and with the consent of the Hungarian Royal Minister of Religion and Public Education or the Hungarian Royal Minister of Defence, the Miklós Toldi Medal of Merit could also be awarded to foreigners who had rendered meritorious service to Hungarian sport and physical education.
It was first awarded for achievements at the 1936 Summer Olympic Games.
