The Order of the Star of the Hungarian People’s Republic was a socialist order established by the People’s Republic of Hungary in 1984. The order had no knights; one was a “bearer” of the order, which was awarded in three forms.
The Order of the Star of the Hungarian People’s Republic with Wreath (Hungarian: “Csillagrendje koszorúval”)
The Order of the Star of the Hungarian People’s Republic with Swords (Hungarian: “Csillagrendje kardokkal”)

The insignia of the order was an eight-pointed gold star with eight white rays and an image of the green-white-red Hungarian flag in the medallion.
The decoration, abolished in 1990, was worn on the left breast from a triangular ribbon. The white ribbon had the colours of the flag as edging and three gold stripes in the middle. The swords and wreath were attached to the ribbon as golden ornaments.
