1939-45 War Medal

The War Medal 1939–1945 (نوط الحرب 1939-1945) is one of the Iraqi royal medals. It was issued in Iraq during the Second World War, when Iraq declared war on the Axis powers in 1943. The Iraqi Army and Iraqi forces were responsible for protecting military installations, allied bases, and Allied forces’ supply lines, as well as providing logistical and military support to Allied forces. The medal was awarded to Iraqi Army officers who took part in this war. A miniature version of the medal also exists.
