אות מצטיין הרמטכ"ל

The Chief of Staff’s Outstanding Service Badge [אות מצטיין הרמטכ״ל] is the highest award for excellence for IDF career service personnel: officers and non-commissioned officers, members of the reserve forces, and civilian employees of the IDF. The badge is awarded at a ceremony by the Chief of the General Staff of the IDF and the head of the Manpower Directorate, in the presence of IDF major generals, the General Staff Forum, corps and directorate commanders, and other dignitaries. Every year on Independence Day, the badge is awarded to 60 outstanding non-commissioned officers and officers selected from all IDF units. Upon receiving the badge, the awardees receive an individual certificate of excellence, a gift, and the Chief of Staff’s Outstanding Service pin.

Since 2013, recipients of the badge have been awarded a special pin.
