The Decoration for Prisoners of the Mandate (עיטור אסורי שלטון המנדט) is an Israeli decoration awarded by the Ministry of Defense on the basis of a decision by the Ministerial Committee for Symbols and Ceremonies, beginning in 1984. The decoration is awarded to anyone who was detained or imprisoned by the British authorities because of activity in, or membership of, one of the underground movements or military organizations, or organizations of a military nature, that took part in the struggle against British rule in the Land of Israel in the period preceding the establishment of the State of Israel, and who, as a result of this service, was imprisoned for more than six months.
The decoration is designed as a barred prison window, from which a blue Star of David bursts forth.
Recipients of the Decoration for Prisoners of the Mandate were automatically entitled to receive the State Fighters Decoration, which began to be awarded in 1968.
