Order of the Hashemite Star

The Hashemite Star Order is a Jordanian military decoration. Royal approval for its establishment was issued on 21 August 1972. It is one of the highest military decorations and has only one class. The decoration is awarded to officers, non-commissioned officers, and personnel in the Armed Forces and Public Security who perform exceptional acts of heroism in defense of the homeland. It was later also awarded in recognition of long service to civilians and military personnel who had shown complete dedication and loyalty, and to anyone whom the King decides to award it under the new Decorations Regulation of 2015.
