The Cherifian Military Merit (Mérite militaire chérifien) is a rare decoration. An order with a single class (and not a medal), it was, according to some, the highest Cherifian distinction, and, according to others, the reward of the Moroccan soldier.
The Order of Cherifian Military Merit was created in 1910 by Sultan Moulay Hafid.
Recipients include General Texier, General Méric, General Catroux, Generals Sevez and Giraud, and Marshals Lyautey, Juin and de Lattre de Tassigny, as well as the American General Patton.
