The Order of Liberty (or Order of the Liberation of Montenegro or Christmas Uprising Medal) (Ordine della Libertà) is a decoration awarded by the Kingdom of Montenegro, established by King Nicholas I on 18 October 1920 while he was in exile, to commemorate the return of his dynasty to the throne of Montenegro after the period of Serbian occupation. It was awarded to those who actively worked to restore the monarchy in Montenegro and, specifically, to participants in the so-called “Christmas Uprising”, which in fact took place on 7 January 1919.
The order's medal features the coat of arms of Montenegro in enamel, within a laurel wreath with two crossed swords.
The order's ribbon is green.
The order consists of a single class, with the title of Knight/Lady.
