The “20 Years in the Service of the Nation” Badge (Odznaka „20 Lat w Służbie Narodu”) was a Polish ministerial decoration of the period of the Polish People’s Republic, awarded by the Minister of Internal Affairs.
This single-class badge was established by Resolution No. 78 of the Council of Ministers of 25 March 1964, in recognition of the devoted service of officers of the Citizens’ Militia who distinguished themselves in performing the duties of that service during the twenty years of people’s power. The Minister of Internal Affairs separately specified the regulations and design of the badge.
The badge was awarded to:
officers of the Citizens’ Militia who, during twenty years of service, distinguished themselves in performing tasks to protect public peace, order and security, setting an example through devoted and conscientious performance of their duties;
officers, warrant officers and non-commissioned officers of the Internal Troops, and civilian employees working in the Ministry of Internal Affairs;
members of the Volunteer Reserve of the Citizens’ Militia, on the same terms.
