The “10 Years in the Protection of the Borders of the PRL” Badge (Odznaka „10 lat w ochronie granic PRL”) was a Polish military decoration of the Polish People’s Republic period, awarded by the Minister of Internal Affairs.
The badge consists of a field coated in glossy red enamel, on which is mounted the state emblem—a silver-plated eagle. Around the field is the inscription: “In the Protection of the Borders of the PRL.” The field is surrounded by a wreath with a green ribbon at the top bearing the inscription “WOP.” In the upper part, on both sides of the field, are white-and-red border posts; above the field, in a laurel wreath against a red background, is the Roman numeral X.
The badge was awarded once to officers and non-commissioned officers who had served in the Border Protection Troops for at least five years. It was awarded by the commander of the Border Protection Troops on the recommendation of the commanders of Border Protection Troops units.
It was worn on the right side of the uniform, above the flap of the upper pocket, to the right of the Medal of the 10th Anniversary of People’s Poland.
