The “Distinguished for the Customs Service” Badge [Odznaka „Zasłużony dla Służby Celnej”] was a Polish ministerial civilian decoration; an honorary badge awarded for merits to the Customs Service until 2017.
The badge was established by the Act of 24 July 1999 on the Customs Service, while its design and the rules and procedure for awarding it were set out in a regulation of the Council of Ministers of 17 April 2000, which also abolished the former “For Merits to Customs in the Polish People’s Republic” Badge. Following the entry into force of a subsequent Act on the Customs Service in August 2009, a Council of Ministers regulation of 11 August 2010 amended the badge’s statute.
The repeal of the Act on the Customs Service on 1 March 2017 resulted in the loss of the legal basis for awarding the badge, and consequently it ceased to be awarded. On 16 August 2017, it was replaced by the “Distinguished for the National Revenue Administration” Badge.
