The “Distinguished Foreign Trade Employee” Badge [Odznaka „Zasłużony Pracownik Handlu Zagranicznego”] was a Polish ministerial decoration established on 31 July 1971 and awarded by the Minister of Foreign Trade as an honorary distinction, in the form of a badge, in recognition of merits from many years of dedicated work and the achievement of outstanding results in foreign trade. The badge was discontinued on 11 May 1996.
The badge was shaped like a disc 20 mm in diameter. It was made of oxidized bronze. On its obverse was a round medallion depicting the outlines of the world’s continents, with the oceans and seas enameled in navy blue. The medallion was surrounded by the inscription “DISTINGUISHED FOREIGN TRADE EMPLOYEE.” Along with the badge, which was pinned to clothing, an honorary medal was presented (placed in a box and not intended to be worn), bearing an enlarged, unenameled version of the design on the badge’s obverse. It was 60 mm in diameter and made of bronze.
