Saint George medal

The Medal of Saint George is an honorary award presented since 1993 by Tygodnik Powszechny “for the struggle against evil and the stubborn building of good in social life to people who show particular sensitivity to poverty, harm and injustice, and express this sensitivity through action.”

The medal bears an excerpt from Psalm 37 in Marek Skwarniecki’s translation:

Commit your way to the Lord, trust in Him, and He Himself will act. He will make your justice shine like the light, and your righteousness like the noonday brightness.
