The Svensksund Medal is a collective name for the three medals that Gustav III had struck after the victories at Fredrikshamn and Svensksund in 1790. The medals were awarded at ceremonies in the Royal Palace Chapel at the Royal Palace on 13 February and 14 March 1791, as well as at corresponding ceremonies in Stralsund on 13 March, at Sveaborg on 10 July, in Turku on 24 July, in Tavastehus on 16 August, in Gothenburg on 9 September, and in Kalmar on 18 September of the same year. The medals were created by Carl Gustaf Fehrman. The three medals were:
one for the victory at Fredrikshamn
one for the victory at Svensksund
one for those who took part in both battles
The medals served as medals for valour.
410 gold medals and 230 silver medals were produced.
