Lahti-mitali

The Lahti Medal is an honor awarded annually by the City of Lahti Board. In 2005, the City of Lahti Board established a medal committee, which prepares proposals for recipients of the Lahti Medal and also for honorary titles to be requested from the state by the City of Lahti. The medal committee comprises the chair and vice-chairs of the city council. The chair of the committee is the chair of the city council. Several medals may be awarded in anniversary years; otherwise, only one is awarded each year. The medal was designed by sculptor Heikki Varja.
